CTV – Technical Training
CTV offers the following training following programs in Dukhan Leaning Centre
CTV adopted the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF), a comprehensive, nationally consistent and flexible framework, for its technical qualifications. It provides higher quality vocational education and training through qualifications that meet individual, workplace and vocational needs. Under this umbrella registered training organizations (RTO) deliver training, assess competency and issue AQF qualifications. The Corporate Training department has established a partnership with a Technical and further education (TAFE) college and become an authorized centre to deliver and assess Certificate II & III in Engineering and Process plant operations for its TPP graduates and employees.
- TAFE cert III program in Process Plant Operation, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation disciplines.
- Workplace learning assessment for Cert II & III technical programs
- Skill sets in the technical disciplines as required by the employing department.
The Technician Preparation Program enhances the Strategic Qatarisation plan of the State of Qatar by providing a competent national workforce. It prepares Qatari secondary school graduates to learn to undertake Technician/Process Operator jobs in Qatar Petroleum, its subsidiaries and its affiliates in the following areas of specialization:
Trainees recruited for this program are given extensive English Language and Mathematics in the Foundation program. They then start a phased competency based TAFE Certificate II program in their chosen specialization. This 15-month program has 2 phases, 9 months off-site training at CNA-Q and 6 months extensive Workplace Learning.
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Instrumentation engineering
- Process / Chemical Engineering
After successful completion of Certificate II, graduates are confirmed for employment and they sign a new employment contract with their assigned company and continue with their Certificate III program specific to their company’s needs.
